Article by George F. Chandler, III
This study is redux, owing to the previous article for the 1971 Admiralty Law Institute Symposium on Carriage of Goods by Water by George F. Wood, Esq., titled Damages in Cargo Cases. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending upon whether one is writing or reading this Article), very little has changed as to the substance of that article; most of the changes having occurred in peripheral issues. Accordingly, this Article can be but a snapshot of the law of 1997, just as the previous article was a snapshot of 1971.
