The dominant law and economics critique set forth by Professor Coffee for the class action suggests that numerous efficiency problems plague class suits. This Article examines the efficiency of both parens patriae suits and intervention into class suits. It concludes that these devices introduce beneficial input into class actions that should cause efficiency gains and that could help the now tarnished reputation of the class action.
