Judge Don Albert Pardee settled in New Orleans, Louisiana, after serving as an officer in the Union Army during the Civil War. Appointed to the bench in 1881, Judge Pardee served with distinction until 1917. During his tenure on the court, Judge Pardee made significant contributions to the field of admiralty law.
