In this note, Patrick Isacks discusses the Louisiana Court of Appeals for the First Circuit's decision in Frigon v. Universal Pictures, Inc., 2017-0993 (La. App. 1 Cir. 6/21/18); 255 So. 3d 591, holding that (1) privacy rights are strictly personal; (2) the right of publicity does not exist under Louisiana law, and (3) the newsworthiness of the events in question outweighed the decedent's right of privacy.
